May Streamside Story

May Streamside Story

This collage is a part of a collection designed for my 2021 wall calendar.  This calendar is unique in that each collage in the collection connects with the others in some way.  If the viewer looks carefully, the images fit together to tell a story of interwoven lives and connection between humans, the landscape, and its other inhabitants. Each piece also works as a stand-alone image.  This collage shows a Swainson’s thrush fledgling peeking out from under some grass along a stream with an osprey eating its catch – a rainbow trout – in a nearby tree snag. The words, “Spring fully blooms,” “listening” and “the transition between” are incorporated into the piece.
