Artwork Details: This collage is part of a collection entitled “Small but Mighty” which features tiny creatures with extraordinary strengths. This image features a snail which is one of the world’s most resilient creatures. During the winter, this is called hibernation, but when animals sleep due to a hot and dry climate, it is called estivation. Snails can survive in this state up to three years. This and more amazing snail facts are tucked into the richly layered background, and are complemented by the stamped text, “Resilient.” This piece is intended to remind us that speed isn’t everything. Sometimes tenacity can be one of our greatest strengths.
