Well, I did it! I just hit “SUBMIT” and my entry for the Lilla Rogers Global Talent Search is off for review! I have that feeling like I did back in school after you work really hard on a test or paper and hold your breath as you turn it in – then let out a huge sigh. I have to admit, I’m surprised by how excited I got by this experience. I feel good about the my submission. I know the competition is stiff, but I feel proud of myself for taking a leap and giving it a whirl. The process was really invigorating for me too. It was just the motivation I needed to get into the studio and dig into a fun project. And worst-case-scenario, I’ve got three new portfolio pieces out of it. Yes, I know. You can only submit one piece, but I ended up doing three as I worked through my ideas to find one that felt right. The full assignment is confidential, but I can tell you that I was briefed to create a playground themed journal cover as if Paperchase was my client. Here are the pieces I did:
I’ll let you guess as to which one I actually submitted. 😉 I’d be curious to hear your feedback. This has been a great learning process…. And it’s even got me thinking about some new artful pursuits. (More on that soon!) Thanks for reading, friends!
