Medium: re-purposed paper on canvas
Dimensions: 11″ x 14″

This blues art piece features an old blues musician done in black & white magazine text holding a blue guitar.  This magazine collage is done using just cut paper – mostly junk mail and magazines – no paint or other mediums. This piece and Lil’ Boy Blues were both done for an art show entitled “Blue” at the Columbia Center for the Arts in Hood River, OR. When I read the call for artists, I instantly thought “the Blues!” and this piece was born soon thereafter.  These pieces were some of my first to use paper with text as texture.  I love, love, love the look.  These pieces flowed really easily for me – always a sign that I am working in the flow.
