Medium: re-purposed paper on canvas
Dimensions: 12″ x 16″
2009

Looking for children’s art? This upcycled art features a little boy staring cross-eyed at a ladybug on his nose. This magazine collage is done using just cut paper – mostly junk mail and magazines – no paint or other mediums.   As with many of my pieces, Seeing Spots was inspired by an absolutely adorable photograph in a magazine of a little boy cross-eyed at a bug on his nose.  I am just in love with these everyday, genuine, funny moments -which kids seem especially adept at capturing.  I knew I had to do the piece.  It was done around the same time that I started playing with incorporating text as shadows and texture in my pieces like The Blues and Lil’ Boy Blues.
